Hi! I wrote this story on a different website and I got banned from the website and so I will rewrite my story here instead. Here it is!
Prologue:
I was laying faced down in the red dirt, unable to move. I think my leg was broken.
"Dad!" I called. No answer."DAD!" I screamed. I heard rustling in a nearby bush. "Who are you? Why are you not answering me?" I asked only to find a cute little squirrel.
Great. I`m abandoned in the woods. Probably with a broken leg.
"HELP!" I yelled. "Jenna! Where are you?"I heard someone, a woman, yell. "Mom?" I asked. "Yes, Jenna, it`s me. Just relax. I can see you now." Mom answered in a louder voice. I closed my eyes as she examined my injuries. "Broken leg, other than that, bruised. Those bears were really after your father more than you." Mom said, she picked me up and ran home.
"Where`s Dad?" I asked. "He`s - He`s in a more peaceful place." Mom said. I felt the pain in my leg go from awful to extremely awful. I fainted as my Mom set me down on a metal table at home.

Prologue:

Chapter 1: The Recovery.

- I wake up to see a soft afternoon light seeping through my bedroom window and I suddenly remember seeing the bears claiming my poor father`s life.
It`s so awful I`m unable to explain what happened. Mom`s knocking at my door before I remember that I`m safe in my room.
"Come in." I told her. "Honey, you`re awake! That`s great. I thought you were going to die, too. Your sister wants to see you." Mom said. "How long have I been asleep?" I asked. "Three days, sweetheart. ANGELA! Jenna`s awake!"
Three days. Long enough for dad to have hunted the bears down. We would have had lots of meat. But he had to forget his bow. That`s why he didn`t survive. I can`t afford to make the same mistake.
"Jenna! Finally, you`re awake! I`m not an only child!" Angela choked. She hugged me and we drowned each other in tears.
After a few days, I had learned to walk on crutches. They were harder to walk with at first, but I got used to them. Mom says I`ll make a full recovery, but my leg will always have the claw marks from the attack. When she asked how many bears there were, I said there were ten, but I think there were more. I shudder at the memory.
Mom told me that when I zone out I have to remember who I am.
I am Jennifer Layne. I have no middle name, because my mom really dislikes middle names. I like to be called Jenna because I could say it more easily as a toddler. I can`t zone out. I must keep my mother and sister alive. I am Jennifer Layne.
After a month, I have the cast on my left leg taken off, and I learn how to walk again. As soon as I`m better, Angela and I go out every day with our weapons and hunt. We get enough food on the table to be able to have food for a week at first, but that turns into enough for a month. We won`t go hungry. I refuse to allow that to happen again.
Chapter 2: The Disappearance

- "Jenna! Look! Oh, wait, it`s a leaf." those are the types of comments my mother made when we tried to teach her to hunt. I didn`t yell even though she was scaring off nearby game. "Stop, Mom hunting is to be done in silence." I would tell her. She never listens. Never. It`s useless to tell her. She will never learn. I finally get it through her head that silence is the key in hunting.
"Great, Mom. We will go longer in the woods tomorrow." I said. "Awesome. I`ll be learning the ways of your father, hunting" Mom said distractedly. I put my bow and arrow away with Dad`s and helped Mom with chores.
I was napping four hours later when I realized I heard someone leave. I jumped up and ran to Mom`s room where I found Angela sitting numbly on the old cot Dad used to sleep on after hunting.
"Mom left?" I asked.
"Yup. I tried to stop her, but she says she can`t stand being around Dad`s smell anymore. She says we smell like him, too." Angela explained.
"What, so she`s abandoning us?" I asked.
"Yes. Leaving us for ever" Angela said before bursting into tears.
I ran outside and found a trail mom had obviously taken. I found her clothes on the ground and her footprints in the pool of water that leaves everything normal water would wash away there. I followed her trail until I saw just grass and the edge of the woods. there was a note.
'Angela or Jenna. If you try to come and find me, I need you to read this first. I have decided to hang myself. I`m headed to the Border to the sacred hanging tree. It`s unsafe, so you must not come. Go home. And remember, I love you always and I will be your Guardian Angel. - Mom'
I ran to the tree anyway. All I found was fresh blood and fresh bear tracks. So, I ran home and took care of Angela. "Mom`s Gone. With Dad now." I told her.
Chapter 3: Leaving Home
- Spoiler:
- I was losing everything. My Dad, Mom, and now food. Waxington, the evil country up North, has taken the woods down, so animals are scarce. We haven`t had any food for the past two days.
I want to leave. But Angela wants to stay with all of our things. I think she does not realize that we can pack everything in the truck and go. We will leave before we`re brainwashed like our aunts and uncles, cousins and grandparents were.
Dad says we were born in the United States of America. When we get to the border, we only have to show our birth certificates and e can go into the only existing free country on earth. All of the other countries that were free were forced out of existence by Waxington. The USA is too strong for Waxington. So Angela and I at least have hope.
It took a lot of time, but I convinced Angela to leave with me. After hours of going South, we reached the border. The guard let us through after searching for any weapons we might have had. I was pleased to know that the guard knew mom and dad.
"So how are they? Your mom and dad?" the guard asked. Angela burst into tears. I told the guard what happened to them before comforting poor Angela. "Why?" she asked. "Why did mom do this to us?" I felt a tear on my cheek and wiped it away. "I don`t know, sis. I don`t know."
Chapter 4: Aunt Liza
- Spoiler:
- I woke up to see a glow through the window across from the bed I was sleeping on. It`s not that comfortable, but I am okay with it. We`d found Aunt Liza, our only living aunt who somehow escaped Waxington.
She had been brainwashed, but she eventually got over it after escaping. No one knows how she did it, not even her, but she did. Once she knew she was free, she began remembering every detail of her life and everything that was washed from her memory came back.
She says that she`s been through the impossible and I agree with her. Angela loves Liza because she`s adventurous. I like Liza because she`s my mom`s sister and she remembers so many more things than I do about mom and also, Aunt Liza always has a story and she`s a millionaire.
"Good Morning, sunshine." Liza said as I walked into the kitchen."You sound just like mom" I told her. "Hi, sis." Angela said. This is how the mornings have been every day since we arrived here a week ago. But today is especially special since it`s my 16th birthday. ""Happy birthday, Jenn!" Liza said, hugging me. Angela smiled. "16 already!" she exclaimed
Chapter 5: 16th Birthday

- I love my friends at school. They`re not mean like every other person I meet there.They`re nice and lovely. Also, they`re pretty crazy and cool people.
The best part of today is that my homeroom teacher wanted to host my sweet 16 during the class period and the principal offered to take all of the mean people in the class out and help to invite all of my friends to my class. So that was kinda fun. The party was short but sweet, lasting only an hour.
Everyone in school is happy for me and they all say "Congrats!" or "Happy Sweet 16" so today is better than usual. After school, I invited my friends over and we had a sleepover and a second party.
Liza had bought me so many presents that it took an hour to get them all opened. One of them was a car. I hugged her and said "Thank you!" a hundred times.
After presents, we went upstairs and watched one of my new movies and Angela kept Liza distracted downstairs since she`d already seen the movie and didn`t want to end up ruining it.
We stayed up until about midnight chatting about boys and slept in our sleeping bags only to wake up and mourn having to leave. But, one by one, everyone left after having a short breakfast.
I`d say that my birthday overall was a fun and successful day for the last day of the school year. I can`t wait until next year.
Chapter 6: Mom

- One minute ago, I heard it. The voice. I was at the candy store in the mall searching for Angela, when I heard the same voice from the woods. The same voice that I`ve heard my whole life. "Mom?"
I asked. "Jenna! Angela!" she exclaimed. "MOM!" I shouted turning to see her reaching out to me while hugging my sister to death.
"But how? Aren`t you s- you aren`t dead?" I asked. She smiled. "No. I faked my death to hunt the bears down and then when I returned, you were gone and the woods were, too." mom answered.
She knows me too well. I wouldn`t have let her hunt the bears down. And I bet she knew where we went as soon as she found the old home empty. I led her home and Aunt Liza fell apart in tears when she found her sister alive and well.
We had a party and all of Aunt Liza`s, Angela`s and my friends were there to celebrate mom`s arrival and the fact that she was alive. It was fun. Everyone got to know mom and she told stories from when she was hunting.
The stories were great and they sounded fun, although if I were the one going through them, I`d feel awful. One of them was the story about how she got away from us. I already knew it, but I enjoyed her side of it.
After the last story was told, everyone had to leave. So when friends had gone, we showed mom every room in the mansion and settled her into the bedroom between Angela`s and mine.
I had the best night of sleep than I`d had in months that night because Mom`s home.
Chapter 7: The Victories
- Spoiler:
- In Geography the other day, we watched the world trade center fall since it was September 11th. Then, another thing was on the news today as well.
Waxington was not victorious in taking over three different countries. The wars were over and Waxington was not victorious in taking over any of them. Waxington is out of weapons to fight with.
So every country that still exists is planning on attacking Waxington as soon as possible.The US has been waiting for this day to happen, and We are attacking Waxington today if possible.
Mom says we`ll be victorious since so many men and women have enlisted themselves to fight for the world`s freedom. She wanted to fight, too, but I convinced her to find another way to fight for freedom. Anyway, If the world wants to remain free from Waxington, they will fight.
Chapter 8: The Day of Lies

- The other day, I was sitting on a couch in the huge library in the mansion and Mom appeared out of nowhere and said that I had a visitor. It was Sam, one of my friends. She wanted to talk about boys. I told her that I wasn`t feeling well and that she may as well go back home.
After she left, I went to my room and decided to call a friend of mine named Quinn. We talked for a while about my birthday and about my mom and then, she had another call coming in. So I hung up and then my mom called me downstairs and said that she was called and told that I had to go to work an hour early.
I left and when I got to work, Mindy, my boss, said that she called and told my mom that I didn`t have work today. "The place is being fumigated." she told me. "Oh. Okay." I replied. I sighed and went home. I was very angry with my mother.
"What is going on?" I asked my mom when I got home. She slapped a newspaper onto the old coffee table next to her chair and walked away. I read the headline on the front page. 'The International Day Of Lies' it said. I frowned. "Okay..." I thought. A day for lies. Who knew there was such a thing? I know I didn`t.
